Beyond tools: why I believe being a good guide starts with being a good human

When I started on this path, I thought methods made a good coach. Today I know: real change is born where two people meet in clear attention and kindness.

Of course, I began like most people do: I completed the trainings. I earned my Life, Business and Mindfulness coaching qualifications, learned questioning techniques, how human behaviour patterns work and how a process is built. Early on I took part in international programmes and learned from respected teachers abroad – I am endlessly grateful for all of this knowledge, and I keep learning to this day.

But after a while I noticed something that was never written in any course notes.

I didn’t just become a better coach

After every programme I felt that I hadn’t simply become a better coach. I had become a better person. More sensitive to other people’s feelings, more patient with silence, clearer about my own emotions. When I realised this, the focus of my search changed too: I no longer wanted to collect new techniques – I looked for places where I could grow as a human being.

Because today I deeply believe: a good guide starts with being a good human.

Of course, tools matter. Knowledge matters, so that we can recognise where someone is stuck and what inner barriers hold them back. But on their own, these would remain cold frameworks. The real magic isn’t born from a methodology, but from the moment we sit opposite each other – on a screen or in person – and I listen to you with full presence, without judgement, with genuine kindness.

Questions that don’t come from a textbook

If, during a conversation, I were thinking about which model, tool or questioning technique to use next, in that very moment I would drop out of the present. My attention would slip away from you and into my own head.

That is why I let go of the templates.

When I sit with you in clear attention, something quite different happens. I listen not only to what you say, but to what lies behind the words: a small emphasis, the silences, a flicker in your eyes. In this quiet, non-judgemental space, the questions aren’t forced – they arise on their own.

I am not trying to “cleverly figure out” your situation. I simply hold the space, hear even what you may not yet have dared to say to yourself, and ask the questions that help you find your own answers.

What ripples outwards

When you sit with me, I don’t see a case to be “solved”. I see a person, with her own story, her own pace and her own answers.

And there is something more that makes me love this work with all my heart: this attention and acceptance doesn’t stop when our conversation ends. Anyone who experiences what it is like to be truly seen and heard carries that calm home – to her family, her children, her relationships. This is how change ripples outwards – to the people around her, too.

If you feel the call to sit down together for a relaxed, free 15-minute conversation, you are warmly welcome.
